IT Consulting

It all starts with taking the time to ask the right questions in order to find the best solution for the client.   Of course, it helps to know what questions to even ask – which is where our 20+ years of technology support experience makes a difference.

IT planning and strategy is a major component for every client relationship.  We work with our clients to create a plan for today, tomorrow and the comings years so that there are no surprises.   We then revisit your long-term plan each year to make sure we’re keeping the big picture in view and making adjustments where they are needed.

Some of the areas that we help our clients with are:

  • Infrastructure Planning (Servers, Routers & Switches)
  • Applications (E-mail, Databases & Financials)
  • PCs & Printers
  • Bandwidth Needs (Internal and Internet)
  • Telephone Needs (Internal and Mobile)
  • Business Cost Reductions (Credit Cards, Copiers, Consumables)

We review the current IT environment to determine where there may be opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity, while reducing costs.   We find that most businesses have either ‘too much’ or ‘too little’ and very few are ‘just right’.   By this we mean that some businesses are trying to get by with equipment or services that are unable to keep up with current demands – or the business has invested in equipment and services that far exceed their needs.   In either case, the business computing environment is not optimized and may be costing them in efficiency and productivity.

Our goal is to match up the business’ needs with the best technology solution and in the most cost-effective way possible.   There is nothing worse than walking into a business and see a very expensive high-end server – and the business has only a handful of employees and is not running any in-house applications that require a server.    In this case, we find that another IT company has a one-size fits all solution of putting this server into every one of their customers, because it is easier for them to have one solution for everyone.   Unfortunately, this solution is not optimal for the business and is usually much more expensive than other alternate solutions – and spending their IT dollars for this solution potentially prevents them from being able to afford to implement other technology solutions in the business that could save them more money – or optimize their computing environment.

We believe in standardizing equipment for each business to make them more efficient, but we do not believe in one-size fits all.   We have preferred vendors for various products and services, as we are confident in their specific capabilities, but we approach every business need with an open mind to ensure that the best solution is found and put into place.
